Hi,
I need help.
Sometimes, I found system very slow. I recently checked the task manager and
found there's a process named Audiodg.exe running at up to 40% CPU usage. I
turn it off and no sound.

How come it happens?
Could anyone help?
Thks.

I think Windows did not auto-detect your audio controller and you had to
install the drivers given by the sound card manufacturer.Use Windows Update
and check if native drivers are now available for your sound card.

Which sound card do you have with what driver version?

If you proceed to the "Sound" Control Panel, double-click on the "Speakers"
icon (or your selected output), then click on the "System Effects" tab and
then click "Disable System Effects", does your system then not error in this
fashion?

This would be appear to be caused on your system by a malfunctioning third
party Audio Enhancement.

Thank you,
-Zach

Go to Control Panel -->Sound -->Configure,then select your audio
channels to Stereo.I had it on 5.1 and my CPU was going crazy. This
solved my problem on Windows 7.Should be the same on vista.Peace !

I have a new ACER laptop with Vista Home premium
It has an AMD Turion X2 dual core and plenty of memory.
As soon as a call is established with Skype, Audodg goes to 40 to 50%+
usage which slows everything down and makit impossible to do anything
much less talk or send video.

I disabled all enhencement On both microphone and speakers.
I uninstalled the Realtek High Definition Audi driver and let Vista
re-install it.
With msconfig, I disabled all Realtek stuff from starting at boot.
I even, as suggested elsewhere, disabled the Audio service, rebooted
and re-enabled it.
Nothing works
This is ridiculous, my wife’s computer CPU barely register when she
is using Skype with video streaming and she is running XP on a much less
powerful CPU.
Mine is 100% and become unusable.

Have you checked with the manufacturer for an updated driver?
I would suspect that if there were a perf problem with the driver, the "old"
inbox driver would have that perf problem but a new install from the
vendor's site would be less likely to have that problem.
