Immediately after applying this patch last month I am now receiving Error
code: 0x0000064 and 529: NT Authority\System: Logon Failure: reason: Unknown
user name or bad password
These errors are spread out between my three DC's and on my Exchange server.
I am running AD only for Exchange 2003 and all of the DC's are running 2003
server with SPK 2. Two of the DC's are running DNS and all three have a copy
of the GC. No one is having logon issues and some of these errors are being
generated by the workstation that the user is on. None of the workstations
authenticate to AD due to the campus using (cough) Novell.
Basically, the errors are not causing problems just driving the security guy
nuts.
Any suggestions?

Thanks
Mike-

Start a free Windows Update support incident request:
https://support.microsoft.com/oas/de...spx?gprid=6527

Support for Windows Update:
http://support.microsoft.com/gp/wusupport

For home users, no-charge support is available by calling 1-866-PCSAFETY in
the United States and in Canada or by contacting your local Microsoft
subsidiary. There is no-charge for support calls that are associated with
security updates. When you call, clearly state that your problem is related
to a Security Update and cite the update's KB number (e.g., KB123456).

For more information about how to contact your local Microsoft subsidiary
for security update support issues, visit the International Support Web
site: http://support.microsoft.com/common/international.aspx

For enterprise customers, support for security updates is available through
your usual support contacts.

Thanks for the response. I rolled back the update on two of my DC's and the
errors went away which confirms that the update caused the problem. I did not
roll it back for my Exchange servers and I still am getting some errors but
not as much as I was which I am sure is due to rolling back the patch on my
AD servers.
l
Thanks,
Mike-
