Autmatic UpDate Shows off

hi my computer keeps saying that my automati update is off but when i go to
turn it on it says that its on. so i turn it off then on to see if it would
change but nothing still says off. i really dont know what to do. so far
everything that i have been tld to do has not worked. also when my computer
starts up i have a error message. hw can i fix these two problems? any help i
can get on this ill be greatly appreciated.

When all else fails, HijackThis v2.0.2
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.exe) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
