Auto Arrange Folders
When I click on Windows Explorer and try to move a folder to a different
location, it returns to its original location. When I click on View, the
Align to Grid box is not checked and the Auto Arrange option has a check
mark, but is grayed out where I cannot change it.
How can I remove the check mark from Auto Arrange whereby I can locate my
folders in a specific order? I use Vista.
Thanks,
Jerry

It would be helpful if you learned how to post to a newsgroup.

Thanks for your return. Your link was quite extensive in discussing many
issues. I’m not sure which choice addresses my question and I feel reluctant
to download or change my register, if that is not required. Anyway, I’ll
continue to read your link and see if I can find a solution.

I encountered the same problem tonight when renaming my files, Explore
started sorting them in sections by alpha. I solved this by going t
file/properties/customize and changing the kind of folder I want to al
items, not just video and pictures. Fixed it for me
