Auto download Failure

I have two problems.

Despite having auto update on I don't get any update info.

When i visit the update site it hangs with no message on the front page
(checking for version)

Can anyone tell me if I have to alter any permissions?

0x8007043B error – Windows stops at checking for latest version

When searching for available updates on the Windows Update site, you see the
0x8007043B error
This error may occur if the WUAUSERV and BITS services are not configured properly in
the registry.

Try registering the following:

Click Start, select Run and type (pressing enter after each one and wait for the
success message):

net.exe stop wuauserv
Press Ok

Repeat for the following:
regsvr32 wuapi.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 wucltui.dll
regsvr32 msxml3.dll
regsvr32 atl.dll

net.exe start wuauserv
