I have just updated to XP Pro SP-2 and everything seemed to be working well
until I opened a "slideshow" html document I had written and stored on my
hard drive. The following three lines are written in the source code to
cause the page to cross-fade (lines 3 and 4) and open the the next page
(URL=xxxxxx.htm) in 10 seconds.

<META HTTP-EQUIV="refresh" CONTENT="10;URL=xxxxxx.htm">
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Page-Enter" CONTENT="blendTrans(Duration=3.0)">
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Page-Exit" CONTENT="blendTrans(Duration=3.0)">

Now IE's "Information Bar" pops up to tell me it has blocked the page
transition for my own good and I must make two mouse clicks to "approve" each
new page.

This only happens when opening these slideshows from the hard drive. My
site on the web transitions normally.

I have used the "System Restore" function to remove SP-2 until I can get
around this "protection".

I'm sure there are settings to allow what I want to do but I haven't found
them.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated since I can't holdout forever
without an update.

First, Go to IE / Tools / Disable Popup Blocker.
Next, Go to IE / Tools / Internet Options / Advanced / Tick 'Allow active
content to
run in files on My Computer. I think that this might solve your problem.

Brian.

Thanks so much, Brian. I reinstalled SP-2 this morning, followed your advice
and the system is working great.
