When I initially started up Vista home premium, I did not enter a
user/administrator password (left it blank). On subsequent restarts, it
started and bypassed any need to enter a password. Later, in scheduling an
auto run of SpyBot S & D, the schedular required me to enter an
administrators password to get the task scheduled. So I created a password
in User Accounts and everything is fine except I don't want to have to enter
the password on each startup. Does Vista have the capability to bypass the
password entry and do an auto logon? In XP, I could set that up using Tweak
UI.
Thanks,
Don

Hi,

Suggest you uninstall Spybot, go to user accounts, remove the password,
go to change your account type, make sure administrator is dotted then
ok it.

Reinstall SpyBot and make sure you always right click it and run as
administrator. Then find the spybot.exe file ( it will be in C:Program
Files x86 ) ,right click it, click properties>compatibility and tick the
Run as Administrator box, then ok. You should now be able to set up the
schedule without a password.

Thanks guys for the excellent info. I took the easy way out (netplwiz) and
it worked fine. I am saving the other method for the next time I do a clean
reinstall.
