Auto Reboot - Users Losing Documents

Since all of our computers at the office get turned off at night, we have the
automatic update check updates everyday at noon - if the user has a document
on the screen when they go to lunch - many of them come back to rebooted
machines and lost documents - anyway to set up a rule that somehow will
eliminate this from happening? Thanks!

Only have it download the updates and notify the user, rather than having
them installed automatically.

Rule: before leaving your workstation save your work!

I have another rule (a habit from working on unstable mainframes):
pause during long composition => press Ctrl-s (File, Save)

The same thing would happen if there was a power failure
so there should be no excuse for "losing documents".

BTW I must admit that when I am there and tell it: Later
it is really annoying to be continually interrupted as if
I hadn't acknowledged the first time. At least if they would
give me some control over the damn timer it would be less
of an annoyance.

IMO

Don't leave unsaved documents !
Or run updates at night like most people do (myself included)
