Hi, Neal
3 things to do that hopefully will set things right.
1. Download and install BITS 2.0 from the MS site. This would normally be
offered to you via WU, but since you can't get there just yet go ahead and
install it manually. You can pick it up here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
2. Download and install the latest MS scripting files. These are even newer
than the ones in SP2. You can grab those from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
3. Last, and after the Restarts are done (don't say no to those), go to the
Windows Update site again via this link:
http://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.co...ult.aspx?ln=en Watch
the screen, and if/when you see a yellow bar about installing ActiveX
controls, click that and select to install the files. That should update
your WU controls to the latest (.2182 as of this writing) versions.
