Auto Update Won't Install

Windows update recognizes my need for a graphics driver, but installation
fails without an error message other than "failed to update". Any ideas how
to work around this?

Don't ever get hardware drivers from Windows update. They tend to cause more
harm than good. Visit the website of the manufacturer of your graphics card
and download the latest driver from there. Or, if there is nothing currently
wrong with your video, leave it alone.
