AutoHide the Taskbar

Can someone tell me the Taskbar doesn't always hide as it should? I
use all but one of the "levels" (in other words, the Taskbar is one
llevel short of the max (it takes up a lot of room on the screen)). I
have always had the same problem on my XP Pro machine. I usually have
to reboot to fix the problem. Thanks......

It IS temperamental, I'll vouch for that, but a reboot shouldn't be
required.

A right-click taskbar > Properties > .. > OK

should be sufficient.

I've always used this method - but it doesn't always work.
