Hi there
I am trying to automate the process through my scripting. I want to do the
following:
1) Run a program to check what updates are needed on a particular PC.
2) Download all the updates to a particular directory.
3) Get the details of all the updates.

I dont want to install them untill I look at the details. I want to automate
this whole process through scripting. I need the excutables that can do this
job and any other help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

the Windows Update site does the scanning of the system (activeX or whatever) to
determine what the OS needs in terms of updates.

The auto-update is turned on through Control panel

Ok Need to know more about your enviroment

But figure the easiest way is SUS
U need a 2k3 server though
Basically it downloads all the updates to one comp on the network. You then
go and approve the updates you want to install.

And all the computer install them automatically once u set them up. If that
makes sense. I use it tis quiet handy.
