Automate offline windows update?

i have a testlab environment which is to also be used as a pre-staging area
for new pc configurations, images, etc. this lab is in a closed loop and has
no internet access. the problem i am having is that i would like to automate
the windows update process without using sus. i have downloaded the updates
via the windows update catalog. however, i would like to know if there is a
way to either batch-install these updates without user intervention (a
utility would be preferable to having to create a batch file) or temporarily
redirect the path of automatic updates to look in a local path such as the
cdrom drive.

any help would be appreciated.

Hi

Some starting points for a scripted installation:

A)
Unattended, A Windows deployment system
http://unattended.sourceforge.net/

See "How to install hotfixes and applications" under "What next?"

------------------------------------------------------------------

B)
In the link below you will find a description of a hotfix installation
system by Rob Dunn:

C)
If you want to script the installs yourself, combine the information
at the sites referred to in A) and B) with the information in the
following links:
