Can I set IE9 to automatically delete cookies at say logout?

You can do this in IE8.

Click TOOLS>INTERNET OPTIONS then go to the Browsing History section and
select the Delete Browsing History checkbox, and also select the Delete
button and check the items you want to delete or preserve. Also select the
Settings button and choose the settings that suit you.

I assume that I need to delete the browsing history in order to delete
the cookies.

The problem here is that I would not be unable to follow my previous
searches should I need to return to a previous page.
