Automatic Downloads errer

When ever a site tries to give me an automatic download (like with a flash
player), the infomation box has no details, and I instantly get an error box
telling me the download failed. This even happens on the Wndows Update page.

I've tried all the scripting solutions on the Troubleshooting page, and
nothing seems to work. Can anybody help here.

Please describe the steps you take when accessing Windows Update.

Additional Questions:

1.) Version of Windows
2.) Service Pack Level
3.) Version of Windows Update. E.g. V4 or V5 (if Windows XP)
