Automatic Resizing of Windows

A strange thing is happening with Vista. Frequently after a period of time a
window will automatically minimize to about 80% of its size and then when I
click on the maximize icon it shrinks even further to a small square about 2"
x 2". After a third click on the maximize icon the window is restored to
full size. I would appreciate any help on this annoying proglem or even some
help on what to search for in the knowledge base.

Have you recently installed any software that might have triggered this?
Have you tried doing a System Restore to an earlier point in time before
this started happening?

Thanks for considering my problem. I can only think of one thing I added a
while back and there probably have been some updates that I just don't
remember but I think the most important thing I should do is exactly what you
suggest and do a system restore.
