This is caused when your OE data import was from a "Branded" install of IE,
that is when you used an ISP disc to install your connection software in the
past.

To change it to "Whatever" you like, I have my name at the top instead of OE
or WM.

Navigate in the Registry, Start>Run, type regedit>OK. Look for a string
valued key in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows Mail called "WindowTitle" in
the right pane, right click and choose Modify, and change it to whatever you
want.

that would be fine if i had any idea what 'navigate in the registry' means.
from what you're saying i get the idea that i am effectively using windows
mail regardless of what it says in the title. is that correct? if so, i won't
worry about changing it.

You are correct, it is WM.

You are also correct not to edit the registry of your PC if you are unsure
about doing it.

Could you get a friend who is more computer able to do it for you?

It looks better with your name at the top of the page instead of Outlook
Express.
