Automatic Time Updates

I am running Windows Home Premium. The automatic time updates are not
working. The scheduled time adjustments fail and when I attempt to initiate
the automatic update manually by selecting the time server and clicking on
the Update now button, I receive the following error message. "An error
occured while Windows was synchronizing with time.windows.com. The peer is
unreachable."

I have tried all of the time servers that are available in the drop down but
receive the same type of error for all servers.

Thanks for any suggestions.

This is a common problem. Change the setting to the next time checker in the
list: time.nist.gov instead of windows.com.

I've had good luck using the ntp.org pool servers.
For example:
north-america.pool.ntp.org
europe.pool.ntp.org

Read up about the ntp.org pool project here:

I've also had a problem with internet time synchronization, while my
location was set to Serbia (my real location), but once I've set it to
United Kingdom (I'm still in Serbia), it started working fine (still does).
Also the weather gadget in my sidebar had a similar problem and solution.
Why does this happen? Is it a problem that I have an unreal location set up
in Control Panel?
