Automatic Update Client refuse to work!

Hi!

We have a Windows XP where the Automatic Update Client refuse to work, even
after reinstalling it.

We reinstall it first using this command line:

rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132
%systemroot%\inf\au.inf

After we tried :

WindowsUpdateAgent20-x86.exe /wuforce /quit /norestart

We tried to delete the SoftwareDistribution directory and restart the
service, but after doing that, the directory is not recreated and we always
get in the WindowsUpdate.log:

What could we do next to fix this Automatic Update Client???

We even resetted the wmi service (deleting the wbem\repository and restarting
the service), and still getting:

PLEASE HELP! We want to avoid rebuilding this workstation!
