Good monring!

I wonder if anyone knows the maximum interval setting for this field? Using
up/down arrow, the maximum numebr of hours it can go is 22. However, if I
were to key in the field, there is no limit as to how many numbers I can type.

We would like to set it to weekly (168 hours), can it be done?

Thanks in advance!

22 hours appears to be the max and going by the below, it's the Default.
http://technet2.microsoft.com/window....mspx?mfr=true

Thanks for your answer.

Another question is when the user first logon to the network, does it
automatically force update detection with WSUS server? Will this have the
same effect as running wuauclt/detectnow in DOS prompt after logon?

I *guess* it does, but do not know for sure. Try here:

Configure Automatic Updates by Using Group Policy [AD]
http://technet2.microsoft.com/window....mspx?mfr=true

Configure Clients in a Non–Active Directory Environment
http://technet2.microsoft.com/window....mspx?mfr=true

The WSUS html-based newsgroup is here:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/com...pdate_services

Feel free to consult the experts there for questions concerning WSUS <w>
