Hi everybody.
I'm running winxp pro sp2 for several years without this problem, but
now is a week or two that i have this "bug"(?).

I have setting the auto update to "Notify me but don't automatically
download or install them" and now i have the icon on system tray. I
click on the icon and appears the update window, but there are no
update to install or download! The window is simply empty.
I have check on the windows update site and all the critical update
have been installed.

So i have tried to change the auto update to "Download updates for me,
but let me choose when to install them" and the icon disappears, but
if i change it again as written above the icon appears again with the
same problem.

How can i solve that?
Why this happens?

I have solved deleting the softtware distribution folder in c:\windows
after stopping the update service.
Then running the service again. At this point windows update tell me
that there are some update, install them and everything works now!
