Automatic update prevents incoming email

Last night's auto update did something to my Outlook client configuration and
prevented incoming emails from my server (outgoing worked fine).

I figured the updater was the problem since all was working last night and
truly nothing else happened. When I de-installed the Outlook component of
the updates (using add/remove programs), then restarted, then it worked
again.

So, anyone know if there is a fix for the automatic update? I really prefer
to have the automatic updates, but this one didn't work for me.

Check your firewall [and AV] software. A recent security update updated the
EXE to a slighly newer version. It may be preventing mail from coming in as
it's looking for the older version.
