Automatic Updates and how long does it take?

I take care of about 150 computers and was using AU to stay current with MS
updates. I've noticed that on most months it takes about 3-4 days for all
the PCs to get the updates downloaded and installed. Some people here on
Campus seem to think this is too long. I think that 4 days is not so bad
considering how many millions of computers are using the update site
automatically. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks!

Recently I have set up a WSUS server and am moving all PCs to it.

When so many updates for so many OSS are released at once (like they were
last week and in Aug-05), it can take a week or more for AU to bring 'em in
due to excessive server demand.
