Automatic Updates downloading & installing KB922819

Hi,

I have a question regarding KB922819. This patch addresses
vulnerabilities in IPv6 implementation on XP and W2K3 platforms as
mentioned in below MS bulletin
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sec.../ms06-064.mspx

Then why is it automatically getting downloaded and installed on my XP
SP2 desktops which are running on IPv4 ? , and what is the benefit of
this patch getting installed on systems running this IP version.

Would anybody here care to respond ?

Hi There,

Nothing is automaticly downloaded and installed unless you have made these
specific settings

IPv6 Implementation is there quite some time so logically a patch comes for
a new vulnerability found.

Change your settings to: download updates for me but let me choose when to
install them and choose advanced/custom install when using them and you can
skip anything you do not like: especially drivers from win update

Cause you *may* use IPv6 in the future. Just in case you want or need to,
the security update is installed to prevent any quirks.
