Automatic?? Updates on Win Server 2003

Hi,

I'm looking at the Windows Update installation histories of five servers
that run Windows Server 2003. The automatic updating is highly inconsistent
with each server and between servers. Whenever new critical updates become
available, at least one, but not all of the 5 servers receives them
automatically. The inconsistency is truly great.

Does anyone know why this might be?
