When I opened my Toshiba Satellite this morning, I had a small window telling
me that Windows Updates were ready to install......Your Computer Must Be Shut
Down....(or something to that effect) and give two choices of shutting down
now or in 10 minutes. I chose to shut down now. The updates started out OK,
stages 1of3 and 2of3 seemed to go ok, but....stage 3of3 is now in a continual
loop???? What do I do?

Sorry to highjack this slightly, but my daughter has the same problem with
her 6 month old sony vaio laptop running vista home premium. We don't have or
can't find the disc. Is there a workaround when you don't have the disc? I
have tried running startup repair but that made no difference. Many thanks,
Tim.

You'll have to contact the manufacturer for a way to restore the computer.
You'll need disks anyway in case of other problems down the track.

i have the same problem. T%he recovery dvd looks like it will de a repair but
the computer then goes back into the continuous loop stage 3 of 3 etc. I got
out an engineer who contacted microsoft. they say they know about the problem
but there is no solution to it yet. The only solution is a complete reinstall.
