Autoplay not working

Running Vista Home Premium

No autoplay function works, no matter what type of media I place in the
CD/DVD player. I have changed all autoplay options in autoplay menu, reset
defaults, changed them again. Still, every time I insert a DVD, CD, blank
disc, nothing happens.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Ron

Click on the blue Vista start button, then type
AutoPlay in the Start Search box, then click on
the AutoPlay icon that appears and set your defaults.
Afterward, click on Save.

I've already been down that path. I have set and reset, changed, reset to
default, saved, rebooted, tried safe mode. Still.. no autoplay function
works.

Hello Ron,

Does your CD drive still show in Explorer? What does it show in Device
Manager?

Did it used to work, and if so, did you install anything immediately prior
to it not working?

Jane,

The drive works fine and shows correctly in explorer. The autoplay function
just doesn't work. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what has caused it to stop,
but I can insert a disc and open it up in explorer - or other apps like
MediaPlayer and play movies or CDs.

Thanks,
Ron
