It is clear that these two facilities are either loved or loathed. My wife
has always loved the facility on her machine until she purchased a new laptop
with vista. Niether has ever run and it is all I can do to stop her throwing
her laptop out of the window.
Their settings have been enable, preferences set and just about every
suggestion in these threads carried out and stil nothing. She is a great
digital camera fan and all she wants is the dialogue box to pop up each time
she inserts her SD card and ask her what she wants to do. She and I fear that
this will never happen unless some kind knowledgable sole out there can reset
her, and my sanity. Grateful for any help pleeease.

those settings are now in the control panel of vista..

have you seen them?

there are many tweak programs that can configure these settings..

you can even take the tweak ui from an xp machine (only the exe) and run it
on vista with no problem

Did you try Control Panel\Classic View\Autoplay for options; on my Vista
machine this gives many options.

Have seen these options in the control panel. Changed the option settings but
nothing we set seems to make any difference, and yes, the check box has been
enabled. Thanks for your contribution, appreciated.
