AutoUpdate on Remote Desktop

I have WSUS installed and working correctly.
When I log onto our servers directly the little windows autoupdate pops up
as expected and says updates are downloaded and ready to be installed. Now
here is my problem. If I remote desktop to the computer ( running windows
server 2003) the little notification doesn't pop up saying updates are ready
to be installed. I log on as the same user account.
This is possing a problem as I usually remote desktop to the servers in the
evening when they can be restarted. Any ideas on what I need to do to get
the updates to show up when I remote desktop in?

Thanks

Don't know how to get the pop-up to work, but.....
once you are logged in (as an administrator I assume) just run update
manually from the Start Menu.
It will check the SUS server and you can continue from there.

I'm having similar trouble. When I RDP from XP to Server 2003, the clock is
gone, but the rest of the notification area is there and I can click the
updates balloon from WSUS. I just deployed a new 2003 R2 server, and in
addition to the clock being missing, the whole tray (notification area?) is
gone, and no updates balloons when I RDP. When I manually check for updates
by running wuauclt /detectnow nothing happens.

right-click taskbar, properties, show clock.
