Not real sure what's happened. On my site all the AVI movies became missing red
x's. Also a WMV. the MPG's stayed there and worked. I went to converting my
avi's to mpg - 1. Can't convert the wmv to anything. All the converters drop
the last portion of the WMV.

I don't see how this could be a vista problem, as they play just fine on my
machine. They just don't work online in ie7 .. This is a NEW problem..

Any solutions as to what I can do to get them working again in IE 7 ?

Congratulations, you just ran afoul of all the DRM in Vista.

That makes some sense. Any idea on how to remedy this short of converting
everything to MPG ?
Something else that makes little sense, these AVI's I'm speaking of are home
made using various software. Such as Vdubmod which existed long before DRM. And
I know I didn't stick any DRM in the files.
It would seem the problem is zeroing in on the files extension vs any DRMbuilt
into the files.

Switch back to XP, and never load IE7.

MS has always tied its behavior to file name extensions since the old
DOS days. Much of the DRM is thus tied to the extensions as well.

That makes no sense. I mentioned this is a NEW problem. It would seem it's
something that either happened with an update, or something else. IOW: I've
been using vista and ie7 since January. The problem just occurred in the past
month.
