You must mean 2011..since there is no 2010.
The installer will upgrade all applications currently installed and also
pre-check(opt-you-in) any that are not...thus ensure you run the 2011
installer in the custom mode by selecting 'Choose the programs you want to
install' and deselect any that you do not want.
Note: 2011 uses a Ribbon Menu and Options Menu instead of the traditional
file menu used by 2009.
