Away Idle doesn't work

My Live Messenger doesn't automatically set itself to AWAY after the defined
idle time (5min in my case).

I always show as online unless I set it.

Any ideas? I've uninstalled, purged the registry and re-installed. Still
no luck.

How do you define "idle"?

Greetings,

This functionality really doesn't work too well and never has as it doesn't work properly on
Remote Desktop connections and other applications can cause it to not work.

Keyboard macro programs, OEM keyboard monitors (especially on laptops), etc. all can disrupt
this from working -- unfortunately the only real way to determine what's causing it is
process of elimination.

Older versions of Messenger Plus actually had a way of doing this effectively working around
the problem, but Messenger Plus Live does not and as such, there's no real good solution for
this right now.

Good news is, apparently it will be in the next build of MsgPlus Live.

It works just great for me.
If I don't use my PC for 5 min (my case) the status "goes" to Away

This is the behavior that I observed. I set my Idle time to 1 minute and my
status was set to Away accordingly. I also tried 5 minutes and it worked.
However, I noticed that if WLM is actively getting Toast, that the status
will not be changed to Away.
