Axim X51 will not connect

Microsoft Active Sync has been working very well connecting my Axim X51 until
recently. Now I get a message "connecting", then no progress; finally, "no
partnership established." Active Sync troubleshooter does not help. I have
also checked my firewall, it indicates that all active sync programs have
full access. I first encountered this problem on my home desktop (months
ago), but no problem at the office. Now the Axim won't connect with either
one.

Hi Clare,

Have you tried synchronizing after performing a soft reset? Also which
version of ActiveSync are you using?

Yes, I have tried soft reset. Active Sync 4.1 failed, so I downloaded 4.5,
but it doesn't work either.

Hi,
Do you have a software firewall that could be preventing the connection?

I use McAffee Security Center with the Personal Firewall running. The
settings indicate that all 4 of the Active Sync programs have full access to
the computer. I tried turning off the firewall, but that didn't solve my
problem.

Hi,
Are you able to see the network connection while the Axim is connected?
This can be checked by using a command line and issue the command ROUTE
PRINT.

I've been gone for a few days. Thank you for responding, Chris.
Route Print brings up a split-second dos screen, but not enough time to
recognize any text.
When I click on My Computer, all I see for that port is Mobile Device. It
doesn't recognize it correctly, apparently.

Open an MS-DOS window and type 'route print' there (that's what Chris meant
by "using a command line"). The window won't close until you close it by
typing 'exit'.
