BACK BUTTON DOESN'T WORK IN EBAY

In many auction listings on ebay, I can not use the back button to return to
the previous page. As an example:

On ebay's main page-
I click on "musical Instruments"
On the page that appears next, I click on "Electric" under the "Guitar"
category.
On the next page that appears, I click on any of the name brands in the
column on the left.
On the next page that appears (let's call this "Page X"), there is a list of
current auction listings. I pick an auction listing at random.

Now, after looking at the pictures in the auction, a can not use the Back
button to return to Page X. I can click the back button repeatedly and it
will simply reload the auction page, but will not return to Page X.

This is not a fluke. It happens to me every single day many times a day,
without fail. Since this wasn't an issue with IE6, I'm led to believe that
it's a bug with IE7. I had the BETA version of IE7 installed and it DID NOT
HAVE THIS PROBLEM.

That's more likely a problem with the web page; try the down arrow and pick
the preceding page to see if that will work; I think it will. Some sites do
this on purpose, OR, they might be loading a bunch of adclick, etc., that
you have to click back thru in some cases, during which you won't leave the
page either.
No chance it's a new window and just needs to be closed, is it? When you
open a new tab or window, there is no page to go "back to".

Since it never happened in IE6 or IE7 beta but DOES happen in IE7, I
automatically assumed it was the browser. Plus, it happens all over ebay,
not just on one particular page...it is a chronic thing. It's not a new
window, either, so that's not it. I'll try the down arrow and see what
happens, but even so, something's fishy about it.

I followed what you did, and cannot replicate the issue in IE7. It goes
back just fine for me.

I just did it again, so I don't know what it is. It never happened in any
other version of IE so I'm blaming IE7 for it. There must be a setting or
something causing the problem. Clicking the back button just refreshes the
page. Oh well.
