Hello,

My os is Vista. Whenever I click on internet tv, I get a message indicating
"internet tv is not available in Canada."

Why WMC thinks I am in Canada is a mystery. I have checked the date, time
and region options in Vista, they all are set for United States. I have
also run WMC' setup numerous times, no change. Unfortunately, there is not
an options to select my location in WMC.

I do not have a tv tuner or xbox. Does WMC have a selection of free tv
internet besides HSN which I can view?

Thank you.

Are you actually in Canada and/or using a Canadian InternetServiceProvider?

Hello Curious,

Thanks for responding. You also responded to my similar post of 12/15/09.

Actually I live in New York State and my ISP is Verizon. Weird, huh?

Has your ISP recently obtained new IP address ranges that were previously
assigned to Canada, and are you being assigned one.

Do you now have or in the past have any connection with a Canadian e-mail
address or with an internet provider that also supplied service to Canadian
customers?
What is your Zip code?

You can go to http://ip-lookup.net/ and see where the internet thinks you
reside.

Thank you all for your replies.

I used the link supplied by Jaime and it reports Verizon.net, my ISP, as
domain owner and I reside in NY. Thats good to know, I was beginning to
think I was in 2 places at once!

Verizon is my first and only ISP. I have never resided in Canada, nor have
I ever emailed anyone in Canada; as for as I know. All of this could also
be the reason why I never get media downloads for Media Center. In fact, I
have lost many of the internet radio and pay on demand choices I had 2 years
ago.

Does Verizon provide you a permanent IP address or do they use DHCP to
provide one to you?

Hello Curious,

Unfortunately, you are now talking Greek. I have no idea what DHCP is or
whether I have a permanent IP or not. However, from time to time I have
used the speed tester in dslreports which has also maintains an ongoing
record of my speeds as well as my IPs.

Although the IP addresses vary somewhat, after testing the IPs for the last
6 months in Who Is, I learned they all show my accurate location: NY. I
hope this answers at least part of your question.

Again, thank you for your assistant. I would love to watch interent tv on
WMC like other users.

Good evening,

At last I am back in America. I took the chance and started everything in
Services that had to do with Media Center. When I returned to the Media
Center I had access to Internet TV (beta). I do not know if this did the
trick or something else happened in the interim, but for now I am back
home.

Thank you all for your assistance.
