Back to WLM 8.5

Switch back to WLM 8.5, WLM2009 keep hanging on my PC, I always like to
upgrade to new version, however, this is my first time to downgrade the
software. WLM2009 has an ugly design, absence of nice features(removed from
version 8.5), unstable.....

I just went back, because the latest COMPLETELY F***** my messenger. I
couldnt send audio (because the stupid thing couldnt detect my audio device
WHEN ITS CLEARLY WORKING. i have more then 1) and it also stopped displaying
emotes.
well, I went and installed 8.5 again, nad guess what?
EMOTES STILL WONT SHOW UP, AND MY AUDIO ISNT WORKING. I CANT SEND VOICE CLIPS.
SORRY FOR THE CAPS BUT IM REALLY ****ED RIGHT NOW, ABOUT TO PUNCH A HOLE IN
MY SCREEN.
if ANYONE, has ANY solution for this, I will be EXTREMELY grateful.

Interesting crap. I've downgraded WLM on both my XP MediaCenter desktop
(to 8.5), and my Vista notebook
(to 8.1). I can do a voice call between them just fine. If I do a video
call, the 8.5 seems to work, but the audio
slides on 8.1 don't work, so you can neither hear or speak from the
notebook.

I'll try upgrading my 8.1 to 8.5 and see if that works.

Yep, upgrading 8.1 to 8.5 on Vista worked. Audio slide now works in video
mode.

Hi Rod,

8.5 has some essential fixes for voice/video, routers and Vista, if that's the scenario
you're using. Unless you really can't stand the UI tweaks in 8.5, I would never use 8.1.
