Backing up data

I just got MDA from T-mobile and activesync and backing up data has been
nightmare. I previously owned treo 600 where you could simply set the option
to save everything onto the laptop and then I could do erase pictures on treo
and not affect the backups in the laptop. However with activesync, if I
either erase a picture or file or anything for that matter from MDA itself,
when synching the data gets erased automatically. I tried the other way
around; erase something in the laptop and then sync. Sure enough the data got
erased from MDA.
There's no way to just synch and backup with this program. I have to
manually copy pictures and data that I don't need to keep in MDA to free up
space.
Is there a better way or it is the way it is?

Hi,
Synchronization means just that - two way movement of data so they match.

ActiveSync does not offer an option to perform a one way copy as part of a
regular schedule.

You must use third-party tools to back up your Pocket PC. Now, there're two
*reliable* (as opposed to the Sunnysoft app) backup apps for WM5 devices:
Spb and Sprite Backup. Both thave their strengths and weaknesses. Please see

info.
