Hi,
In my pc ,I have 2 HD:

*1.*WD 160GB (8MB) 7200 RPM
On which the OS is installed.[Local Disk(C: )]

*2.*Seagate Barracuda 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Sata 2
[Local Disk(D: ),Local Disk(E: )]

A long period,my WDC WD1600AAJS-07PSA0 ATA Device makes loud noises.

Yesterday,I got a message: Windows identify a problem in my HD.(in my
WDC WD1600AAJS-07PSA0 ATA Device).
and I need to backup now and fix the broken.

Now,I want to backup my pc on my external HD that connected with usb and
restore him in my second HD.

Thanks.

good luck with that.
Restoring a backup to a 2nd HD does NOT make that 2nd HD bootable.
Go to the Seagate website and look for their free cloning software.
Use it to clone the WD Hd to one of the partitions on the seagate.
This will make that partition bootable.

You did not mention wether the WD was SATA as well ????

The WD HD is Sata 2
I'll follow the instructions from this manual 'How can I copy / transfe
all the data from my old boot drive to my new Seagate drive?
