I keep being told by Windows Vista 32bit Family edition that there isn't
enough space to back up my data (I'm using the Vista standfard backup
scheduler) error code 0x80070070. But I'm backing up C: to a 1.5tera
external disk which is almost empty. Disk C is a 320gig disk with 23 gig
still free. So what could be the problem? I am sure that the external disk
has over 1 terabyte free.

Can you help please?

No password, just a simple atomatic data back up.

My Vista is in French, but the error message translated just says

"The backup could not be completed

The instant cliché could not be created for the following reason:

Insufficient disk space (0x80070070)

Time of back up ......
Location of Back up Drive F"

Drive F is my near empty external hard disk.

yes; It worked on a different external HD which ran out of space.

So I bought a new one.

But now the backups won't work anywhere

No but I have copied other files on to this drive. In is pre-formatted NTFS
and shows 1.24tb free out of 1.36 in Explorer.
