Backup harddisk

Recently my Vista Ultimate found that my second harddisk has a problem and
asking for backup.
What would happen if I choose to backup the harddisk? My second harddisk has
250 GB capacity, how and where will it be backup?

If you were to use to use Acronis TrueImage, or Vista's built-in backup
program, the backup would be in the form of a very large file.

You can also use TrueImage to clone your drive, for which you would need an
empty drive or partition.
