Backup of individual .pst, etc Outlook files

Hi. I'm new to this discussion. Hope you can help me.
I'm running Vista Business and am trying to backup just a few critical files
from Outlook and elsewhere to a flash key. I'm having trouble finding the
"appdata" folder under User\Name where a .pst properties box says this path
exists. I desire only a select few files to back up (Outlook .pst, task,
calendar, contact and notes) and do not desire a big "all PC file" type
backup which Vista Backup seems to only allow. I suspect a hidden folder
type of scenario but am unsure how to access. Any help here is most
appreciated.

"appdata" is a hidden folder. Set View in folder opions to show hidden
files.

Hi Mike,

Many thanks for the help and my apology for the slow response. The link you
provided says:

APPLIES TO
• Microsoft Outlook 2000 Standard Edition
• Microsoft Outlook 98 Standard Edition

I'm running Office Outlook 2007. Some information appears to not be
applicable in the link to Outlook 2007 (e.g. it seems there is only one
"Outlook" pst and not separate ones for Calendar, Tasks, etc like prior
Outlook versions). Do you know if there is any published Microsoft Outlook
2007/Vista help that defines content in this "Outlook" pst file (e.g. whether
Notes is also included) and covers this help subject? I'm looking for the
published confirmation so I don't copy the Outlook pst file and think I've
got everything I need only to find out that some of the other app data, such
as Notes, weren't included.

Hi AJR,

Your post was very helpful and has me on the right track. One small
correction is that in Vista/Windows Explorer to view this hidden
folder/files, in Windows Explorer click on “Organize�, then “Folder and
Search Options�, “View� tab and then check the “Show hidden files and
folders� and click the “Apply� button to see this folder and its contents.
