Backup mails

I wish to backup the mails for the Windows Mail. I can locate the folders of
mails, however, while I copy the folder to the backup location ( an external
USB drive ), the action found failure and return message is " cannot copy the
files with the properties of fixed location " ( the translated meaning from
Chinese since my OS is Chinese Windows Vista ). How can I do the backup of
the mails ?

You can ignore that error message. It just means that some NTFS file
properties like ownership can't be transferred to the USB drive.

But, I can't proceed to copy the files even I check the ignor or cancel in
the dialogue box. Is there any way to copy the files ?

What exactly happens when you try to copy the files, after clicking
on 'Ignore'? Any other error message?
Are you using Windows Explorer to copy the files, or are you using
the export function inside Windows Mail?

You might see if you can backup your email message into a New Folder o
your desktop first, then copy that folder to your external USB drive t
see if that may work you instead
