Backup when XP came with your computer

I have an HP computer that came with XP already loaded. I'm trying to
back-up my system before I install the SP2. Backup is not under my
accessories. Went to microsoft.com and they said you need to install it from
the disk. I didn't get an XP disk with my computer. Now what? How do I get
backup installed if I don't have the XP disk?

As an OEM owner myself, the deal is you get a cheaper system with less
frills (including disc).
Contact HP, who will offer you either their own version or an XP CD at some
extra cost.

Or backup your files to CD/whatever manually.
Hope this helps

Linda,
HP are not the only OEM who don't provide a Windows installation disk. I
have an Acer Aspire Notebook (purchased 10 months ago and still within the 1
year guaranty period), it was supplied with "System Recovery Disks", which
do not include the NTBackUP installation file. I e-mailed their "Help Line"
enquiring about the "NTBackUp.MSI" facility normally found it the "ValueAdd"
folder on the MS "Windows XP Home" installation disk, my enquiry went
un-answered.
