Backup XP Updates to CD?

Hi all,

I'm going to reformat my PC in the near future and I was wondering if it is
possible to back up to CD/ DVD all the XP updates I've downloaded over the
months?

I'm looking to somehow get them updates on to a CD or DVD, reinstall XP then
just insert the CD and VOILA, all the neccessary updates.

I just know life's not that simple tho. Please tell me I'm wrong tho : )

The updates will only be "reusable" if you manually downloaded them.
Autoupdates can not be used again. Read this and find out how you can
manually download the updates that the system needs from Windows Update
so that you will have them on hand for a reinstall. Burn them to a CD :
