You start killfiling certain squablers that frequent this NG, and it all
disappears and cleans up nicely.

Try the other microsoft.public.windows.vista.* groups. They are less
littered. General discussion seems like a nice place to post questions in
when someone seeking for help can not find or does not know of a more
relevant group. To the flamers, ranters and spammers, the term general means
they can write anything they like.

A very few misinterpret "general" in the newsgroup title to apply to
anything even if Windows Vista is not involved.
That often deliberate misinterpretation increases the noise here.
Look at the list of newsgroups and post to a more specific newsgroup.
The other newsgroups are usually more on topic.
Many of the Windows Vista posts in this newsgroup would be better
served in the specific newsgroup.
There are really very few questions that belong in this general
newsgroup.
The same is seen in the Windows XP newsgroups.

Learn to block, filter, kill-file, ignore those you don't
want to read. Blocking about 3 or 4 users in this group
makes for much better reading. Start with fruitcake Frank.
