Hi.
I'm using Ultimate Vista x64 and i have a 500GB WD hard drive that i
have the vista installed on. Originally the drive was not partitioned,
then i used the GParted Boodcd and shrinked the hard drive to 150GB and
then the other 350GB i partitioned from the Disk Managment within
Windows in to five Volumes. It all worked fine for a fiew months until i
messed around with an other bootcd checking out some partition tools and
then a msg came up saying (Error found select yes to fix or No to
cancel) and i selected yes and then the same msg came for the next
partition but then i selected No. I started windows up and checked on
the Disk Managment and all the partitions are there but one of them only
(shows 50GB which is correct) but nothing else, no Drive letter or
anything, if i right click on it and click properties or change Drive
Letters and Paths it comes up with error and will not let me do
anything, i can't even format. if i look on the My Computer it doesn't
show up either. I tried recovering the data from the bootcd and i can
find the partition and the folders but when i try to copy it wont do it,
it comes up with error. I have some data that i need from there, can any
one Help Please?

I really can't answer your question, but I wonder why you would want to
partition the drive in the first place?

It seems that you somehow partitioned the disk with more than 4 primary
partitions... Was the disk a Dynamic Disk?

Hi David
Thanks for your reply, the disk was basic and i only had two primary
partitions and the bad one wasn't primary. I think the partition tool
that i was using has changed some sort of code on it and now i can't
access it, but one tool that i have on a bootcd called Easy recovery
does see the files on the partition but it sees all the partitions or
the complete hard drive as unknown so i can't select a destination to
save the files, it only gives option for A,B (Floppy) and D,R. I tried
to save them some files to D assuming that's a DVD drive but it doesn't
work.
