Bad updates or not?

Hi i installed a set of updates last night (13/06/07) and when it restarted i
can no longer do anything with my laptop. I can just about get connected to
the internet with limited connection and i can open some programs, but i
can't open folders and my systems restore won't roll back to a date before
the installation. It says there are some errors. Im running Vista on a 32bit.

Is the only option to just do a fresh install or is there anything else i
can do

Check the WindowsUpdate.log found in the WINDOWS directory for error
codes. The most recent entries are at the bottom of the log.
