Batch renaming of mp3 files

I just got a new PC with Vista Premium on it and have transferred my old
files to it. I had named all my mp3 files in a ("Artist") "Song title".mp3
format and I now want to take the ("Artist") part out since there is a
separate "Artist" field. Is there any way I can select all the files and
batch rename them, taking out the ("Artist") part? Of course ideally I'd
like to transfer the ("Artist") part to the Artist field, taking out the
parenthesis' to boot but that may asking for too much!

Any advice appreciated.

Why do you want to change the file names? Is there some application that
you're using that relies on the file name instead of the tags? I went
through renaming some files when I got a new MP3 player and then realized I
did not have to rename the files, just make sure the tags were correct and
then my MP3 player organizes the files based on the file tags, regardless of
the file name.
