i want to get windows media player to be able to stream the news from the bbc
website, this was not a problem 3 months ago but when i attempt to stream
news/videos from the website it does not play. When i right click and then
click 'error details' a dialogue box appears which says: "Windows Media
Player cannot play the file because the specified protocol is not supported.
If you typed a URL in the Open URL dialog box, try using a different
transport protocol (for example, "http:" or "rtsp:")."

Does anyone have any ideas what i can do?

Thanks.

Micky.

I was streaming the Saturday football matches from the BBC website through
media player and it was working fine . There have been times when it
wouldn't stream anything. Just download & install Real Alternative and play
through the Real Player link until WMP starts working again.
