It will not be all that 'soon' in any case. People under consideration for
the award usually have a couple of years of 'easy to identify' 'history of
service' to the community. The award is announced each October and lasts a
year.
My suggestion would be to acquire a Microsoft 'Passport' identity and email
you do not publicly expose. Participation via the "Communities" interface,
with Windows Live Mail, Windows Mail, or the Web interface is one way to get
'credit', and was established for that very reason. (see my signature link)
1. Be helpful
2. Be right
3. Don't argue
4. Do it often
After a decade of participation, I would say I found it fun, informative,
interesting, and expensive : )
